Welcome to Hope City Kids

We are so happy you are here!

Hope City Kids is the children’s ministry for Hope City Church in Harrisburg, NC.  It is uniquely designed with your child’s age and attention span in mind!
Kids (birth through fifth grade) experience safe, age-appropriate environments where the Bible is taught in a creative and fun way. Once you check your child in and drop them off, they will experience a world where they can encounter Jesus on their level!
HCK is available during both of our Sunday worship experiences at 9:00 and 11:00. We are so passionate about kids learning about Jesus in a way THEY can understand that we encourage parents NOT to bring them into the adult worship experience designed for adults and students 6th grade and older; however, we know you are the parent, and you know best. We trust your judgement.
If you do decide to leave them with us, please know that we take the safety and security of the kids in HCK very seriously.  We are honored that you would entrust us with something so precious to you, and we take several steps to ensure that they are safe while having a blast and learning all about God!  In addition to security tags (no one can check them out but you), locked main doors during service, and a constant presence monitoring the hallway, we also make sure that all of our volunteers are background checked and trained.
If your child needs you during service, we will text the number you provided at initial check-in.
To pre-register your children and help expedite the check-in process, click here.  Those forms completed by the Thursday before Sunday will be printed and ready for your arrival.
When you arrive, be sure to switch on your flashers, and the parking attendants will direct you to park in the lot closest to the HCK Hallway, which is located across Oakley Drive from the main service auditorium.

Preschool Age

The goal of Hope City Kids’ Pre-K program is for kids to head into elementary school knowing:

God made them.

God loves them.

God wants to be their friend.

We offer three different preschool classes:

Downtown Kids – for infants birth-crawling

Midtown Kids – for toddlers who are walking until age 3

Jump Street – for preschoolers ages 3-5

We strive to maintain our volunteer/child ratios in all HCK classes.  Occasionally, on a busier than normal weekend, the difference could be greater.  Our goal ratios are below:
Downtown  1:2       Midtown  1:3       Jump Street  1:5

Elementary Age

The goal of Hope City Kids’ K-5 program, called Uptown, is for kids to head into middle school knowing:

I can make the wise choice.

I can trust God no matter what.

I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

We offer three different small groups for Elementary age kids:

Uptown K-1st

Uptown 2nd-3rd

Uptown 45

*Uptown 45 meets as a small group on the Hope City Kids hallway but then walks over to the main auditorium to participate in worship.  After the worship portion of service is over, they go back to the hallway to continue with their small group lesson.

ALSO…if you have a great volunteer story, PLEASE let us know!  Did a specific volunteer make you feel extra welcome?  Is there one that your kiddo adores?  Did someone go above and beyond to make sure your experience was great?  Please share with us so that we can continue to encourage the incredible people we have on our team!

Serve with us!

We have an amazing team of volunteers who work together every week to ensure that the kids we serve leave knowing God loves them!  It is such an honor and privilege to get to do what we do!  If you are interested in joining our team or learning more about the volunteer opportunities we have available in Hope City Kids, please contact our New Volunteer Coordinator, Ashley Rutledge.

The Crew Room

We are excited to offer a cool, fun option for those kids who stay with us for both services because their parents are on staff or serve!  It’s called The Crew!

Kids (Jump Street & Uptown ages), who stay for both services, go to their class for one service and go in The Crew room for the other.  We have a big TV with Netflix, two Xboxes, games, and toys!  We want them excited to come church every Sunday…not dreading it because they sit through the same lesson twice!

Uptown age kids go in The Crew room during 1st service and then are escorted to their class for 2nd service.

Jump Street age kids go to class 1st service and go in The Crew room 2nd service.

So, if you’re interested in serving but don’t want your kids getting bored, we’ve got you covered!
